Happy 2012 everybody! You ready for this? the last 12 months of your life?!!!
No, really people - The World isn't going to end on 21/12/12 in a torrent of tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanic erruptions so please stop being crazy and scaring folk. The other school of thought is that 12/12 sees The Human Race reaching a higher plain of spiritual awareness, a form of ascension. Whilst this is a truly beautiful ideal that I'd really love to believe in, I really don't think that The Human Race is quite ready yet, do you? We all still have so much to learn, so many of our ways need to change and, so much work ahead to achieve this ideallic transformation and, let's face it, we are a pretty lazy bunch so more work towards a goal? No, as much as it pains me, i can't see it happening. Small steps, however, and maybe we can make a start on our journey - respect to our fellow man, respect to Mother Earth that we are so keen on abusing on a daily basis. Then of course, there are the 13 'mystical' Crystal Skulls that many believe, will join in 2012 for the good of all mankind and inpart the wisdom needed to save our damaged world. I'm not going to knock this one too much as it was this particular train of thought that got me interested in Crystal Skulls some years back and whilst I'm very dubious about the coming together of the 13 skulls (of which only one or 2 genuinely ancient skulls have actually been found yet with only 12 months to go), I do believe in the power of Crystal Skulls (both ancient and modern) as my growing family of skulls have helped me so much over the years - in communication, well-being and healing, pretty much as regular crystal therapy does and my belief in Crysal Therapy, as many of you know, is without question.
So yeah, anyway, they were my thoughts on the 2012 shenanigans but what about yours truly? What do i want from 2012? I don't really know - considering how amazing 2011 was for both me and Rob, last year is going to be a hard act to follow so just more of the same would be nice: continuing good times with family and friends and more wonderful trips to exciting places. There's obviously one thing I would like but that's not going to happen so all I can wish for is that Mum's 'stable' condition continues and that the hospital continue with the amazing work and care that they are doing to give Mum as long as possible with a relatively decent quality of life.
On a lighter note, I would like MY BLOODY INTERNET TV AND BROADBAND BACK FOR 2012!!!!!!! - ARE YOU LISTENING, VIRGIN MEDIA, YOU TOTAL ASSHOLES????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...I forget how long it's been now. We must have passed the day 50 mark. With the last level of complaining direct to Virgin's CEO and to Richard Branson himself, it felt that we were getting somewhere but no, just more false hopes and broken promises (that thankfully, Rob has kept on voice mail). And all the while, they continue to take money from our account and haven't credited us a single penny. How dare they threaten us with breach of contract if we cancel the direct debit when what they are doing is tantamount to theft? We are just screaming at a company that doesn't give a shit and it's exhausting. Rob is still of the opinion that, if we hold out, we'll be entitled to, not only the last 3 months billing back, but a top notch all-inclusive package (and wi-fi) all for no extra cost as an apology but, it is really worth it? Do they really deserve to keep our custom after the way that we have been treated these past few months?
Still, like I said before, we have adapted. It's not perfect and we are limited but it could have been worse (and I'm reading so many books again!).
Peoples, whatever you wish for out of the coming year, I hope you'll not be dissapointed. We can all make 2012 as Glorious as we desire it to be. Happy New Year Universe Followers! xx
